Please tell me the good things about having a baby

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and overall very excited, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by how hard / expensive / exhausting it will be and how my current easy life is over.

Please would you share great things about having a baby / child? I really want the excitement to overpower the fear if possible.

Thank you in advance Smile.

I mean, that ^, was very not much my experience of having a tiny baby - DS wasn't a very easy newborn and I found it all got loads better not harder when he could move. I actually found that lots of the bad things people had told me were true - I am knackered, my body isn't the same, I don't go out much (under normal circumstances), I found it hard to rediscover my ambition and passion for my job - but I care a lot less about any of that than I would have thought because the bad is sort of how I expected but the good is so much better than I expected

You might find the few months sheer bliss - I hope you do! - but I just also wanted to reassure you that if you don't that doesn't mean you won't later find parenthood awesome. I think I was a bit worried in those early months that perhaps I just wasn't a natural mother, but I'm just a toddler not a baby person, as it turns out, and I had so much joy to come!
