Cerazette help please

After spotting pretty much constantly for a year, I had a phone call with the doc and asked to be put on cerazette as I was on it years ago and it stopped my periods.
Doctor agreed that it sounds like PCOS so gave 3 months worth. After 1st day bleeding stopped, then about 12 days later started again, only now it's really quite heavy?
Is this typical of this pill? Previous to my year of spotting, I didn't have periods for months on end.

@LoppyLou6 yes I had irregular bleeding on it after no periods for a year on it and nothing had changed otherwise. I read somewhere, either it's no periods, irregular or you get a pattern to it but there's no way of knowing which you ll get.

Im just hoping it settles down, fingers crossed
