Bitesize

Really eager to get my kids using Bitesize as it seems pretty useful and doesn't require a lot of input from me!

It's meant to be on daily on bbc red button which I can't seem to access and on iplayer there are new episodes. Am I missing something? Has anyone else been using it and how have you accessed it?

Red button on iplayer and we use it everyday. Our 7 year old loves it!

Oh god I think I'm being really dense here....

When I search for it on iplayer it only brings up two episodes and they've done both of them. Will there be another one tomorrow?

I think you have to go to two different places - iplayer for the 20 min daily programme and then the BBC bitesize website for the three daily lessons. At least that's what it looks like to me?! It's a shame it isn't all in one place but once I figured it out it looks quite good.

I'd really like to tell my 7 and 9 year olds' scholl to stuff their poorly prepared chaotic workplan with shit materials and zero thought and too much need for parental support and just follow the BBC plan. Not sure how to address this with the school.

I'm using bitesize too. It's just more functional than what the DCs' teachers can send via dojo. I feel guilty because I remember what a bitch it was setting cover work just within a classroom, let alone remotely.

My priority is getting my DCs to do something to feed their brains each day. I'm dealing with one with diagnosed ASD, dyslexia and dyspraxia and some days picking up a pencil causes melt downs. The younger one is possibly (but not as badly) dyslexic and also a reluctant writer, and it's enough emotional effort getting anything out of them and constantly flicking my attention.

Bitesize is working better for us than lots of printing, deciphering and adapting what's been sent by phone.

Can anyone find day 3 of the bitesize daily on iplayer? I can't tell if it isn't running today or if I'm just being technologically incompetent.

cheeseismydownfall · 22/04/2020 12:49

@fourteafallout, I couldn't see it when we looked an hour ago. I assumed it hadn't been published yet for some reason?

MummaMeerkat · 22/04/2020 12:52

They are saying on their Facebook page they are having technical issues with todays episodes

FourTeaFallOut · 22/04/2020 12:57

Oh ok, thanks for letting me know. I'll use the facebook page to keep an eye on it. Hopefully it's just teething problems because my youngest loved it.
