They’re really not attractive. Why have they made a come back??

I love my scrunchie!! I use it as my hairdresser said it won’t break my hair like bands do

midgebabe · 21/04/2020 20:28

You do realise people are different?

Cheeryandmerry · 21/04/2020 20:30

I didn’t know they’d ever gone away Grin

StoorieHoose · 21/04/2020 20:31

Considering their "come back" was about 2 years ago you are either behind the times or you aren't the target market they were aimed at

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/04/2020 20:32

They’re really not attractive.

Who cares? They are fun, colourful and good for your hair. Being attractive isn't the be all and end all.

I hate them but my 7 year old loves them Sad she has 50 yes 50 of them

Longdistance · 21/04/2020 20:37

My dds steal mine. They’re 9 and 11.

I love mine 🤷🏼‍♀️ Couldn’t care less if anyone thought they were unattractive. I’m not wearing a curly telephone plastic shitty thing in my hair.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/04/2020 20:37

Sadly the 90s are 'retro' now so scrunchies are vintage 🙈 I totally amazed some girls at the school where I work by telling them I used to make my own scrunchies when I was their age...

GigiLamour · 21/04/2020 20:38

I wouldn't wear them but my 12yo has some plain dark velvet ones for her ponytails. They look good on her and don't pull at her hair. Maybe the trick is to be 12?

ZestyDragon · 21/04/2020 20:41

I'm 44 and I wear them because the hairdresser suggested it. When you have curly hair normal bands tear your hair. I do usually use smaller black ones though

Grumpbum123 · 21/04/2020 20:41

Isn’t it to do with vcso girls

Graphista · 21/04/2020 20:45

Each to their own. I would love to be able to find the towelling hair bands to use.

I use snag free ponio type things at the moment but with curly hair I found the towelling ones were much better but they're impossible to find now

Spied · 21/04/2020 20:46

I'm 40 and currently wearing a scrunchie.
I'm not a fan but DD (9) loves them and we've quite a few lying around the house.

I love a scrunchie. I often wear one round my wrist to complement my outfit. I also own a very cool bumbag.
I’m 35.

CompletelyRenounceSpandex · 21/04/2020 21:40

Dd (9) has 48!! Courtesy of Amazon and her favourite uncle buying them for her birthday. And yes it does have something to do with VSCO girls and saving the turtles???.....I dont get it either but I'm not the target demographic.....long time since I could be called a girl Grin

CoronaIsComing · 21/04/2020 21:54

Yes VSCO girls. They dress exactly as I did 20 years ago 😂 the problem is that I still dress the same now and I look like I’m trying to be a teenager 😡. I’ve been in an oversized hoodie, short shorts, sports socks, Vans and a scrunchie since lockdown began 😂.
