Can someone please give me advice on AAT membership?

I’ve just completed AAT level 2. My synoptic results are due on Friday.

In the next few months, I’ll need to decide whether I should renew my membership. I don’t work and the sole purpose of me doing this course was to help me get into an accountancy role now that my youngest is starting school after me being a SAHM for quite some time.

DH & I don’t have lots of money so my gut feeling is I shouldn’t renew my membership. My plan at the moment is to try to find a job when the coronavirus situation improves, which I know could be quite a while off. I am also realistic and understand the job market might not be great after this so I have a plan B of studying level 3 if I’m struggling to find a job.

My question is, would it be advisable for me to pay the fee and renew my subscription or would I be okay to let it lapse and then join again should I continue with my studies in future?

I’m very grateful for any help with this.

Thanks Smile

I'm level 4 qualified and just started a new job the day before lockdown, my membership has lapsed and my employer didn't seem to mind.

There are lots of jobs out there, the agency i used is still placing people I think.

You have to pay a fee (£40 ish I think) to rejoin, so you need to weigh that up against the cost of keeping your membership going.
