Flour for making soda bread

We've been lucky enough to buy some plain flour, but it's sold as fine flour for cakes rather than strong bread flour. Seeing as we couldn't get anything else, can we use it for making soda bread? Never made it before.

Yes, it'll be fine - anything that's not self-raising seems to work - wholemeal, brown or white - preferably a bit of a mixture, but not vital :)

Absolutely, just made some (for the first time) used this recipe www.easypeasyfoodie.com/easy-white-soda-bread/
Came out well Smile

Yup. I've only ever done it mixing it with wholemeal, but I've seen recipes for all white too, just never used them.

I only ever make my soda bread with plain flour and it's always amazing.

Have fun! Make sure you eat a piece while it's still warm, and dripping with butter.

Great, thanks everyone. I feel like the luckiest person ever now as we managed to buy AN ENTIRE KILO OF FLOUR! Grin We'd been looking for a while.
