What is this plant?

It recently appeared in my garden.

It might be euphorbia. If it is the sap is highly irritant to skim and eyes, so be careful if you cut it.

Skin, not skim

It's Euphorbia lathyris - caper spurge. They have a habit of suddenly appearing in gardens, as the seed pods are explosive, and seeds are shot quite a distance. Best to pull it up, but do wear gloves, because as Monty says, the sap can be very irritant.

Thanks both! I'm glad I asked. It's a shame because it's quite pretty.

If you think it's pretty then why pull it up ?

I suppose I'm worried that it will spread like crazy, or that DS will crash into it and get a rash or something 🤔.

I basically have enough problems in my garden without a whole new one 😄.
