Hi, in the absence of a 9month HV check due to covid could I ask you all a couple questions please..

Firstly, in your experience does tv harm babies development? I often have BabyTV on in the background whilst we're playing, mostly just for the nursery rhymes but I've recently seen the literature that it can cause speech delay?

Secondly, how much milk was your baby having at this age, DD is on three good meals a day but still having 4 6oz bottles, one on walking, one about 11, one about 3 and one before bed. When should I start to reduce?

Finally, she still has no teeth, should I be worried?!

I know I can call up the HV team but it would be nice to hear from other parents about their experience, thank you

Hi, hope I can offer a little help!
I doubt Tv does much harm unless babies eyes are glued to it for hours on end, but does it really need to be on in the background? Nothing wrong with a couple of nursery rhymes or programs here or there, but maybe save it for when you're trying to cook tea and need a distraction. Only you know how much baby really watches though!

Can't help with bottles sorry.

Don't worry about no teeth until they're around 18 months, just enjoy the lack of teething grumps Grin

I wouldn’t get into the habit of having tv on all the time, try the radio if you like some background noise.

Bottles sound fine, I bottle fed my 3dc and all were on 3 or 4 bottles at that age.

No teeth also fine, 2 of mine didn’t get any until after they turned 1.

That’s great thank you both!
She doesn’t really pay that much attention to the TV, it’s just to have some background noise but it’s probably more for me than her I suppose! Good tip with playing the radio channels instead, I’ll do that!
