Infected ingrown hair?

Have a swollen hot lump (that hurts) in my armpit 😭😭😭

Am guessing (from Dr Google) it's an infected ingrown hair 😭😭😭

Never had this before, so no idea what to do! Please help!

You can lift an ingrown hair by laying a needle flat against your skin and sliding it forwards across the pore, repeat in every direction. Eventually you should catch the loop of hair. Then you gently tease the loop up and work out which end is the tip. Cut the hair to stop it growing any longer, and gently pull to see how much you can remove.
But I've never had to do it on my own armpit. You'll need a mirror, good eyesight and a steady hand.

Make sure the needle is very clean. Hot compresses beforehand will help. Also magnesium sulphate paste and a plaster or dressing for afterwards - draws out any ‘yuck’. You can get it in any chemist.
