Book recommendations for a 6 year old

My DS is growing out of some of his books and needs something new to enjoy. They could be books he could read himself or us to read to him.

Could anyone give some recommendations their DC has loved?

The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey, Jelly and Narwhal series, most Roald Dahl, The Faraway Tree series, Rabbit and Bear. And my kids fight over The Pheonix every week, (it’s a comic).
I really have trouble getting through The Bad Guys without cracking up.
And all Dav Pilkey, Captain Underpants and Dogman.

And the Slime Squad books by Steve Cole.

Ours like Tom Gates.

Jeremy Strong, Captain Underpants, Enid Blyton, Professor Branestawm, Helen Cresswell all popular here and have been for a couple of years (DS1 is 7).

Flat Stanley and The Worst Witch are big hits with my 6 year old. Roald Dahl is a firm favourite too, especially Maids, Fantastic Mr Fox and Esio Trot.

The same as InDubiousBattle plus he likes Truckers by Terry Pratchett, The Famous Five, Swallows and Amazons. Younger one is into Captain Underpants too.

Roahl Dahl, captain underpants, flat Stanley (ds favourite), David Walliams, Tom gates, diary of a wimpy kid (dds favourite). If he likes animals battersea dogs home have a series of stories.

My DS loved the Knight in training series

Mr Gum books by Andy Stanton, and the How to Train your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell, (which she is reading a chapter of every night, helpfully)

Mr Gum is like Monty Python for kids. Surreal.

The Wigglesbottom Primary books by Pamela Butchart are funny, my daughter really enjoyed them.

Beast Quest were a huge hit at that age.

DD loves the Daisy and the Trouble with.... books by Kes Gray. They are super fun to read out loud too.

You haven't said what level of reading your DS is at but my 6yo enjoys reading the Meg and Mog books himself.

The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark, The Hodgeheg, Five Children and It although I had a lot of explaining to do over that one.
