Orthodontic elastics

Hoping someone may know about how orthodontics work ...

DD has a fixed brace on her teeth; she's had it for about a year. She also has elastic bands that she puts on her teeth to further push them into the right place.

She normally has 6-8 week visits where the orthodontist looks at her teeth and adjusts as required. Her last visit (scheduled for 2 weeks ago) was obviously cancelled and I guess no one has any idea when orthodontic treatment might resume.

DD has nearly run out of her elastics. I can order her some more online (of the same type), but wondered if that was the right thing to do? Is there a danger that they could "overpush" the teeth, if that makes sense? Or should she just carry on with the last thing she was advised to do, until told otherwise?

Yes there is.
DS got told they had done too good a job (despite wearing them as they had instructed!) & his brace removal was pushed back a few months because they then had to push the teeth back the other way.

Phone the practice, see if they have a recorded message with instructions maybe?
