Stupid question about horror films

Now I know they aren’t real blah blah blah, but if you was ever to do a horror film, would you feel paranoid doing some of the “summoning acts” like saying Bloody Mary in the mirror 3 times, or writing a satanic pentagram on the wall

Silly I know

No. And film sets look nothing like they do on film...

I can’t bring myself to say candyman more than twice!

I don't think that us a silly question. I would definitely worry about it. I also hate when they have children in horror movies, I always think the poor kids must be terrified after that. I k ow it's much less scary on the actual set, but it must play on their minds.

I'm so bored I might do this today - in a very loud voice Grin
That'll give the neighbours something to talk about

I think a lot of children don’t know they actually are in a horror film.

It’s done so well they don’t know. I’m sure I read that somewhere

It's not a stupid question. It's not real but hmmm better to be safe eh!

It's funny because Iv actually seen a couple of things with this at the premise.

A horror film (can't remember name) the whole story was that a filming of a horror film ended up releasing something because they had used a "real" ancient spell and the cast get killed off.

Supernatural did an episode along the same lines, director found a cool thing in an old book that was real cue all hell on set and Sam and Dean having to save everyone and defeating evil.

In fact if you think about it all those films especially the say the thing 3 times or in the mirror etc are based on the cast flouting the rules.

Don't say it or it will come, Half an hour later they have said it and it is coming!

Exactly!

I mean all stories come from somewhere. Not meaning they are 100% true, but most stories have some form of truth in them

Answers some of your questions and it's very interesting re effects and sounds used

Film sets are very very different to what you see. They will be looking at a massive crowd of people stood behind a camera...

tontie · 19/04/2020 15:02

If I was an actress I wouldn't be in a horror/supernatural film.
