I was thinking of Doing something a bit out of the ordinary in there !

Years ago I painted the wooden toilet seat gold - and then used a few layers of yacht varnish on top.

I collected random 'sample' tiles, all the same size and once I had enough I used them randomly with white ones to tile the (tiny) room. I then used transfers and paint to colour a few more.

Now, I would get ideas from Pinterest. I fancy the loo being a seat with a view behind it.

Going really, full on, I would, once finished, add a glitterball.

I remember years ago seeing a downstairs loo papered in the Beano comic. I loved it.

I’d be torn between tropical, religious icons (our lady of Guadalupe) or a studio 54 theme. Have a look at wallpaperfromthe70s.com which might give you some inspiration.

Mine is 2/3 white with sparkly bits shower walls silver tops and a huge Art Deco white plastic lampshade with dark grey/blue top 1/3. I’d have loved to go more out there but dh wasn’t too sure.

Lots of torn pages from magazines with interesting content to read pasted to walls.

My downstairs toilet is a bit out there. Very ostentatious bright green and yellow jungle wallpaper. I flipping love it and it gives everyone a surprise when they go in because the rest of the house is quite neutral. It's my favourite room in the house now.

I love my totally black and white cloakroom. I'd like to have wallpaper from Timorous Beasties, that's next

Friends of ours had wallpaper mode of an old map of their village for their downstairs loo.

I want to do one of those penny floors. It is on my to-do list. I have the pennies, but not the courage just yet.

I have jazzy moroccan tiles behind the loo. The walls are painted maroon and I have loads of weird pictures hung up which come from charity shops or random craft projects. My mate made me a very rude cross stitch which hangs in pride of place opposite the loo.

We're half way through doing ours - it's not really out there but much more pattern than we'd usually use. The cream walls will be painted teal.
The print is called Whitby in Lido (teal) by Mini Moderns.

Id do mine in the theme of my favourite book so Alice in Wonderland/Through the looking glass.... Maybe have the door hidden behind a giant mirror.... Or a mini library theme, so door would be a bookcase!

Mine is a startlingly bright colour. It hits you like a baseball bat when you go in there, especially as I added a daylight bulb so the light is clean and sharp as well.

The white loo and sink also offset it brilliantly, making it seem even brighter.

I love it, even though the rest of my house is fairly soft colours.
