And a nice chat
I'm lying in bed with a cuppa
DH downstairs reading
DC's yet to surface
Been another long odd week
Hope everyone is ok
Height of excitement we had our second lockdown jigsaw delivered yesterday so can spend the weekend doing that
I know
I'm such a little raver

I am currently still in bed thinking about going downstairs to make coffee and crumpets for breakfast. Can’t quite be bothered.

Love a jigsaw. What’s the design? We did one last week. I’ve got “sort out under the stairs” on the list for today which is like entering a black hole.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 09:43

Last weeks was a farm scene
This one is a grocery shop front - quite an old design
Reminds me of the sort of jigsaws I did as kid
Got another one on order as well ready for when we finish this oneGrin

Perks of a coffee machine in your bedroom
Haven't had to move far 😂

What a coincidence...mine last week was a farm scene! Gibson’s I love the farmyard.

I am very envious of the coffee machine in bedroom. Like being in a hotel! I could yell and dh would make me one but that feels supremely lazy. Torn between quick breakfast or full on Indian style brunch with leftover spiced potato cakes. Think laziniess will win.

Knowhowufeel2 · 18/04/2020 09:48

I'll join you. I'm also still in bed with a cuppa that my dh made for me. One of my dogs is having a sneaky cuddle with me too.
I've been up quickly just to take my bread dough out of the fridge (been proofing overnight) so it can warm up before being baked.

Funnily enough, I made crumpets from scratch yesterday... my 1st ever attempt, and they came out pretty well.

It's been a strange few weeks. Glad everyone is ok.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 09:50

Think I'm going to do bacon and egg sarnie for brunch
To be honest at the moment meal times seem utterly random
The coffee machine in the bedroom has gathered dust for months but when this all kicked off I ordered a ton of pods and it means I can escape the madness for a quiet brew occasionally and makes working from home better

DC still asleep and dh enjoying some peace whilst deciding what we'll be having for brunch.

motorcyclenumptiness · 18/04/2020 09:51

You're in good company, OP. Patrick Stewart was on the Graham Norton Show last night talking about jigsaws and proudly showing off his completed puzzles.

Knowhowufeel2 · 18/04/2020 09:52

Yeah, it's only since this started that I've made use of the tv in our bedroom. We put it in there about 2 years ago, but have never used it until now. It was useful whilst I've been ill and isolating though.

Knowhowufeel2 · 18/04/2020 09:53

I love a good jigsaw, but must confess that I've not done one for years.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 09:53

I saw that
I haven't done a jigsaw in about 30'years but I am finding it therapeutic at the moment and the teen dc's have got quite into it despite it not being cool Grin
Can we stop talking crumpets it's making me want one😂😂😂

That’s such a good idea hobnobs. Do you have a stash of biscuits wrapped in twos and some pots of uht milk next to it on a little tray? I am seriously tempted by this idea...

We’ve got a coffee machine but it’s a barista style one. It makes great coffee but ta a faff to clean. I mostly use an aero press.

Good coffee is absolutely essential for working at home. I’m finding it hard. I’ve worked “from home” for years but that usually meant in a coffee shop. Too much distraction at actual home!

PurpleDaisies · 18/04/2020 09:56

Homemade croissants and bread? Can I come to yours know? I promise I’ll stay at a safe distance.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 09:58

I buy the pods for this machine that come with a milk pod if that makes sense
Latte type ones to save needing fresh milk first thing

I may keep some emergency biscuits to hand Grin

Right. I’m moving...
Kettle is going on.

CrowCat · 18/04/2020 10:04

I'll join, mines a coffee, white with 2 sugars please. Actually DD and I decided to do a living room sleepover last night and fell asleep surrounded with blankets watching slime videos on YouTube. I did just get up to make a coffee but I'm back under the blanket again and YouTube is still on! It's a lovely chaos free start to the day Smile

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 10:04

Well done purple
Back in bed with my second cupGrin

I've just had a most satisfying cuppa. Currently pregnant, so I limit myself to one cup of caffeinated tea per day, and I enjoy the fuck out of it.

My tea of choice is a regular Yorkshire teabag, with unsweetened soy milk, in a random old mug with "White Christmas" on it. We're not Christian, so I've no idea where it came from! It's the perfect size and shape.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 10:04

Hi CrowCat
Sounds like a nice start to the day

OP posts:
hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 10:05

I definitely have a couple of "favourite mugs" and the coffee always tastes better

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 18/04/2020 10:06

muck I know what you mean about perfect mugs. I’ve got a cupboard full but my favourite is one with a cat’s face on it that I bought with my Nan for about 50p thirty years ago!

LongPauseNoReply · 18/04/2020 10:09

I'll have a double espresso but made with Lavazza coffee and a couple of home made low carb biscotti.

Ours is barista style too but worth the faff. Italian DH has high standards Grin

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/04/2020 10:13

DS has a swish coffee machine in the kitchen
But that would involve walking down two flights of stairs Hmm
I don't think so Grin

Right time to move and start attacking that jigsaw
