For the first two weeks of lockdown DS had a desk behind mine and got loads of work done with only occasional "this is what to do next" prompting, as I was focused on work. Usually only for an hour or so each morning/afternoon then he'd go in the garden/to play Lego etc

Then DH reached booked leave, so he lifted DS's desk downstairs. He "hasn't been able to get him to do anything"

This morning (when I'm working without interruptions) I realised why. He had set DS up with the work that hasn't been done all week then started using his laptop. In a different room!

Obviously the 7 year old has just stopped working.

I have the opposite happen. For the first week I was sitting with my 7 year old and it was start and stopped. The following week I moved to
The room beside her and she blasted the work and worked well.
