We need a new Mattress and have been looking at the Emma mattress, has anybody got one, what do you think?

Any other recommendations?

We've had foam mattresses a few times (of varying types - had one that sounds of similar construction to the Emma before).

Initially I loved them, but I've gone off them, and recently got the second-most-expensive Ikea sprung mattress with a wool topper which I'm extremely happy with.

I think the reasons I went off them are: DP and I are both heavy, and they seemed to get the person impression quite quickly, I felt too stifled by it - they are warmer, and I just used to feel sweaty. I actually found that the conforming foam made me lie in the same position too much, which made me ache, because it became an effort to turn, vs. a sprung mattress (I like a fairly firm mattress in either case). It seemed to stay 'damp' for longer - if I'd been hot, or if it was humid, or if DP had lain on the bed straight from the shower, it stayed damper for longer.

I think they're nice, but I think I prefer sprung myself for airflow, with a topper if you want the memory foam layer

We have a Leela. I think Emma, Simba and Leela are pretty similar - the memory foam ones that come in a box. It is awesome and we absolutely love it, soooo comfy. Have had it for two years and it still feels brand new. Much better than the M&S rubbish which had a big groove down the middle after six months.

IKEA Hovag. We're both large thrashers, and they suit us.
