DS has his birthday next week he will be 7-any ideas on making it special for him? Had thought about getting his classmates to do video messages but wondered if anyone had anymore imaginative ideas?!!

Our street all went out to sing happy birthday to a neighbour who was 7 last week.

We have also recorded a video for one mates mum to cut together for her child.

It’s also my birthday coming up and I’ planning on doing my favourite things but inside: we’ll have a proper afternoon tea, etc.

My DS has his birthday soon and was looking forward to a party with his friends. I'm trying to think of ways to make his birthday special for him at home:

Decorating the house - I have some banners and a balloon so we are going to decorated the living room.

Presents - am going to lay them on the table, so it all looks nicely pretended. I will make up a a sweetie hamper for him (lots of sweets in a box). Plus will make party bags for him and DD (we have bits and pieces at home).

Friends and family - I'm going to arrange for family members to call him throughout the day to wish him a happy birthday. He love his PS4, so I'm going to see if his friends can join him on fortnight for a match and catchup (I attended a birthday party on zoom and it was really difficult)

It's DD's birthday soon, we're both taking the day off work, I'm going to make a cake (thank goodness for always having flour in the cupboard) & we'll arrange for friends & family to all FaceTime/zoom/WhatsApp video call at the same time to sing & do the cake. Think we'll get a dominos for tea.

We were meant to be taking her & a friend to the zoo so we'll set them up on Skype & do a virtual zoo tour.

We already have a number candle luckily & reuse banners each year so we can decorate the house.

Was my neighbours dd birthday easter and she had a dance party from her garden. All kids joined in from their own gardens it was brilliant to hear them all singing and dancing to each other but still staying safe. My own 3 loved it they had a great time and are still talking about it
