Can you help me find this .....

Dining chair (x6) that I've been looking for the past 18 months Blush

It's got to be :

Velvet (not crushed velvet)
Oak legs (important as black legs chip easily and I couldn't cope with the upkeep of chrome legs!)
Knocker back style
Studded side detail preferred !

We have an oak dining table and the dining room is open plan with the kitchen which has a slate Grey kitchen - so what colour chair should I go with ? I have three young kids so cream is out of the question but they have to fit the above criteria!

I've looked absolutely everywhere and I can't find them. It's driving me crazy and I just need some chairs to complete my dining table because staring at it everyday during lockdown is DRIVING ME CRAZY.

And breathe . Grin

I have red velvet with my oak table - unfortunately they don’t have studs though...they’re from John Lewis!!

Is there a perhaps a reason you’re struggling to find such a style?...

fogginghell · 18/04/2020 16:11

Ah @Beerincomechampagnetastes there you are, wondering where you'd got to, you were the only one who hadn't responded !! GrinGrin

Oooh I love your red chairs , they probably hide a multitude of child related sins as well! I don't know whether red would go very well with slate grey though .

@plunkplunkfizz is there ??? I don't know. I didn't think I was being particularly fussy

They currently have £10 off as well.

plunkplunkfizz · 18/04/2020 16:14

It was a very popular style about five years ago and after things are very popular that popularity tends to fall off a cliff and people consider the trend a bit naff. The former popularity of the style might be why you’re struggling now. Maybe you could try Wayfair, eBay or Amazon.

I have no idea what knocker back style is but these have some of the other features you were looking for I think

BestestBrownies · 18/04/2020 16:17

You’re bonkers for wanting velvet with 3 young kids though.

I wouldn’t even trust DP to keep them clean for more than about 30 seconds

plunkplunkfizz · 18/04/2020 16:19

I have no idea what knocker back style is

There’s an entirely superfluous metal door knocker attached to the back of the chair.

Ohffs66 · 18/04/2020 16:20

plunkplunkfizz but why tho? Hilarious drunken dinner party japes?

plunkplunkfizz · 18/04/2020 16:21

Looks fancy apparently. I once saw someone hang their napkin on the knocker when they went to the bathroom mid-meal. Blush

blueskys72 · 18/04/2020 16:23

There's a good fb group called House Talk - someone on there may be able to help.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 18/04/2020 17:13

ohffs

I believe it’s to pull the chair out from the table without having to put your hands on the upholstery.

Ohffs66 · 18/04/2020 17:58

@beerincomechampagnetastes practical as well as decorative then! 😂

fogginghell · 18/04/2020 20:55

@plunkplunkfizz ah I see. Well thanks for that , I don't give a shiny shit if it's considered naff because I like it Wink

@BestestBrownies I must be Grin however I have a velvet sofa in the playroom which is holding up very well so I've been very much encouraged ! Velvet cleans up really well surprisingly
