What age is it acceptable for a child to play an (educational) tablet game? I’m not sure if DC is too young or not...

Any age as long as they're being supervised/it's not all the time etc.

Thank you! I’m considering 20 minutes once or twice a week. Is this okay for a 4 year old? Baring in mind we usually watch something once or twice a week too.

My 3 year old has a table (old one of mine) I removed everything then installed a small selection of apps for him. I'd recommend BBC storytime and Khan academy kids (both are free)

I bought my 6 year old one at the start of lockdown. He is not really interested though. He uses it if I encouarge him, for maybe half an hour every few days.

That's fine. The only thing to think about before introducing it is: are they going to absolutely love it and are you therefore opening yourself up to the constant endless nagging for more screen time. Stand firm about limits right from the start would be my advice if it does go that way.
