Maddening ear worm. 80s-era primary school song about seeds growing... "with a little bit of water"

Ever since my son was born, I've been randomly thinking about songs and poems that I learnt in primary school. There is one in particular that's been stuck in my head for ages. But I can't find or remember the rest of the lyrics! It's driving me mad. And now my son has heard me humming it now and wants to know how it goes. Anyone have any ideas??

It was about seeds growing and went something like this:

(chorus)
With a little bit of water
with a little bit of H2O
You'll find, given time
They start to grow.
With a little bit of (something)
with a little bit of (something else)
They may be slow
but watch them
grow and grow and grow.

(verse)
Plants like (dur-dum-dum)
Plants like (dur-dum-dum)
Plants like (dur-dum-dum)
(something something dum)
Plants like (dur-dum-dum)
Plants like (dur-dum-dum)
All these are made from seeds!

I remember the tune, and its quite 'jaunty'. This would have been 80s era, primary school. Please put me out my misery and tell me I'm not imagining this existed...

hah! Sorry. Maybe we can come up with the missing words together if it goes round and round and round for weeks...
