Job after being a tax adviser? Portfolio FD?

A bit niche I know, but has anyone left accountancy or tax to do something else and if so, what? I’d like to start up my own business but the area of tax I do (large corporate and transfer pricing) doesn’t lend itself to self employment! I feel like I have a lot of experience but no transferable skills.

I am good with clients, at marketing/ BD and at explaining complex ideas in simple terms. I’m not so great at the deep technical stuff and pouring over legislation for hours. I wondered about a portfolio FD role for smaller businesses: has anyone done this?

Thank you!
