How many applied to local Primary school?

Is there a way to find out how many applications a local Primary had?

My eldest goes to the school in the next village as our village school (1st choice) was over subscribed. This is fine but we are out of catchment and worried about getting a place for our youngest next year. Is there a way to find out how many applications a school had as we are thinking about moving in to our eldest's school's catchment.

I know as a sibling she has priority over other out of catchment children but doesn't have priority over anyone in catchment and there are so many new houses etc in the area.

We are in South Norfolk if it is different for different areas
Thanks

In the fullness of time, application info gets published

eg www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions/data for Hants where I live.

(Though I have just looked on the Norfolk website and can't immediately find the info.)

Some authorities provide more info than others, and increasing where schools aren't in local authority control any more it just says to contact the school.

I would wait a while until the peak craziness of admissions has passed and then if it isn't on their website ring the local authority admissions team. I'm also Hampshire and I know here they are pretty helpful. If they aren't helpful you could always do a FOI request.

Where I live they publish everything including distance from school to furthest child given admittance. But you also need to look at variations because last year you had to live 0.4 miles or less from the school to get a place, this year it was 4.9 miles. School is outstanding so I think it's just a blip. But illustrates that data from year to year isn't consistent.
