Help me with cheesy (but cute) idea for DC

Following on from an idea I seen online last week we have decided to create a restaurant/out for dinner feel in the house tonight for our 3 DC complete with them getting dressed up, taking reservations, mock tails while they wait for their table to be ready, menus etc...

I’m wanting to make it special but we obviously cant cater for 20 starter/main/dessert options. Grin

Can anyone think of food ideas that would be variations of each other ie bruschetta or mozzarella/tomatoes/basil salad

Or anything else that might work to make it fun and something to remember.

Sounds fun!

You could offer bruschetta or soup (easier enough to heat up/leave in the fridge if no-one wants it).

Could offer pasta with couple of different toppings (a pesto and a tomato based one) and pizza.

Ice cream or eton mess for pudding?

Make menus as well and set the table fancy.

Ice cream factory for pudding? Lots of different toppings in bowls to choose from.

Do you have any candles you could light on the table?

You don't say how old they are but if they're small, having them put their coats on and then giving them a 'cloakroom ticket' when they 'arrive' might be fun.

Definitely thought about candles, table cloth etc, want to make it as restaurant like as possible.

They are 13, 11 and 8 and hopefully all 3 will be on board, even if the eldest might groan inwardly quite a bit!!!! 😂

Food ideas that can be ‘customised’ with different toppings/fillings:
Pancakes (sweet and savoury)
Pizza
Burgers
Fajitas

Give them each a bread roll/slice of bread and pat of butter at the start of the meal.

Could you print off menus with a picture to colour in on the back, as they often have for children's menus in Beefeaters and so on? You could put felts or crayons in a little pot.
