Late last night I booked slot for sunday, but over £100 worth of items into order this morning I want to edit order. Log in as normal its days hello my name and I search for marie rose sauce but before I can click on it it throws me out of website to this message

Updated at 11am, Wednesday 15th April

If you are an existing customer, please log in. If you are returned to this page, you are not on the priority access list and there are no slots available for you at the moment.

We would love to be able to serve you, but demand is extremely high at the moment and it's not possible to deliver to everyone. We're really sorry for any disappointment caused, we hope to have more slots available soon.

If you have any further questions, please head to www.ocado.com/coronavirus.

i am not a priority, I dont want a slot I just want to add to existing order.

does anyone know if existing non edited order is still scheduled as I started amending it and now its in twilight zone.

thanks

Ocado are advising that all orders should be entered at a single session when booking. Have a read of any emails sent to you, also their help section, for advice on editing your order, as this is changed as the situation develops.

lovetheweekends · 17/04/2020 11:25

I think you now have to edit 48 hours before your slot, so depending on the delivery time, it may be too late now.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 17/04/2020 11:32

They are advising that all shops are done in one go (written above when you choose a slot). I’ve your delivery is less then 48h away then you definitely can’t edit it but it’s actually up to 72h if they’re extremely busy. Which understandably they are

I've had exactly this problem with the order that arrived yesterday and my next order that is due in about 10 days time. I spent ages chatting to various help-bots on twitter and eventually got this response from a real person:
"The reality is there is no hard and fast rule with this. Normally you would be able to edit whenevery you wish. If this is still the case; great. However, our Webshop team can restrict the editing of orders to manage traffic on the website. We tend to prioritise those orders due in the next 48 hours, as these are the most iminent. I am sure you can understand this. At 10 days before your order, you are unlikely to be able to edit your order unless you have priority access to the website. All we can suggest is to try to access the website after 4:30 pm. You will be unlikely to be able to edit your order until much closer to your delivery i.e, 48 hours before. I hope this helps"

So it seems like we can't guarantee to be able to edit our orders.
FWIW the only time I've been able to edit over the last few weeks was when I was given access to set up the next order.

TooDamnSarky · 17/04/2020 11:41

So to be clear it it not just that you can't edit orders last minute. They are also preventing editing orders that are not due for ages. There is a mythical sweet spot where we are supposed to be able to edit, but I have not yet found it.

RhymingRabbit3 · 17/04/2020 11:41

I dont know about Ocado but on Asda they only allow you to edit it if your delivery is within 48 hours. The website says to please only edit once and only if "urgent".

TooDamnSarky · 17/04/2020 11:41

your existing order should be fine. Just not edited.

butterry · 17/04/2020 11:47

Did you actually click on existing order and start editing and not check out again? I’m not sure order would be valid if you didn’t check out again. You can’t edit anymore usually 2 days before the order now but otherwise I am logging in and editing as prior to all of this.

TooDamnSarky · 17/04/2020 12:01

It seems that Ocado is giving different customers different levels of access to the site so some can edit as usual but some cannot. There is a long running thread on these 'tiers'

Their computer system is struggling with the x 10 demand

bettybattenburg · 17/04/2020 12:05

Are you trying to do it on your phone or tablet? You need to do it on a laptop.
You might be too late to edit the order anyway depending what time it's being delivered. We had to finish editing ours on Tuesday for a Thursday delivery.

SoupDragon · 17/04/2020 12:05

I think it's because you're too late to edit it. You'll get the original order AFAIK.

You can try getting in at random points through the day as you might be able to edit it but it's probably too late.

SoupDragon · 17/04/2020 12:06

You need to do it on a laptop.

No you don't. You need to do it via the website rather than the app but you can use a tablet/phone.

bettybattenburg · 17/04/2020 12:06

does anyone know if existing non edited order is still scheduled as I started amending it and now its in twilight zone.

It should be ok, you just won't get the changes.

bettybattenburg · 17/04/2020 12:13

On my tablet (ipad) it won't work on Safari, I just get the message that the OP gets but it works on my laptop Confused.

SoupDragon · 17/04/2020 12:14

I only use my iPad.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 17/04/2020 13:22

Maybe it’s to stop those people who ‘hold’ multiple delivery slots by checking out 3 bottles of vodka and then edit later?

Not that you can get multiple slots atm!

Minta85 · 17/04/2020 13:42

Try logging on in the evening when there are fewer people trying to access the site. You may have to queue for a few minutes but will have a better chance of getting onto the website.
