Worried about DD cough

Posting here as I am as sure as I can be that this isn't CV19 related.

DD 23 months over the last few days is coughing a lot, but only a night. It's a few coughs every half hour and she isn't waking up.

She doesn't sound as though she is wheezing and doesn't have a runny nose.

She complained that her mouth was sore yesterday and her bottom back gums are a bit swollen, so I'm thinking that it's the 2 year molars coming through.

Dr Google is telling me that she may have asthma and to take her to the GP, but I very much doubt that we'll be seen!

Any advice would be gratefully received Smile

Possibly asthma - in which case you should speak to a doctor on the telephone.
Possibly hay fever. Have you got any Piriton syrup you could try?

Bear in mind that they are highly unlikely to diagnose asthma at such a young age. They might suggest trying an inhaler though.

If it has appeared in the past few weeks, l expect it might be hay fever. There’s a lot of blossom pollen around at the moment.
