Anyone else getting a lot of headaches lately?

I've been off work for 2 weeks now after my workplace closed down temporarily due to Covid 19. Since the last week in work I've been having headaches almost everyday. At first I put it down to stress, and not being able to sleep properly, and maybe not drinking enough water.

I don't feel particularly stressed now I'm at home though, but still waking up regularly at 3am and not being able to get back to sleep. It's not excruciating, but always just 'there'. It was there when I went to bed, and it's still there in the morning. Any ideas? Or anyone else experiencing similar?

Also, and I'm not recommending this but I was told by a migraine sufferer, who was told by her gp. ..... You could try 2 paracetamol and 3 aspirin taken at the same time.... This always works for me...

Headaches, hay fever or a migraine had one or the other everyday for several weeks now.

SecondaryBurnzzz · 16/04/2020 21:21

There is a lot of tree pollen around apparently, could be hay-fever allergy?

(I've had headaches too, feels like a kind of inflammation in my head, and also get cold and shivery for an hour every day too which is weird.)

Awful here! Think it's a mix of hay fever and not drinking enough, but also a lot of time looking at phones/tv. My screen time has increased massively since lockdown began as we can't do our usual things out and about Sad

ssd · 16/04/2020 21:31

Oh yes, increased screen time here too, that won't help.

TheGriffle · 16/04/2020 21:33

Yep! Dull deep ache behind my left eye. It’s a migraine for me and yours sounds similar. That awful feeling of going to sleep with it and waking up with it still there. Plus I feel drained after it finally goes. I find taking paracetamol plus and ibuprofen together takes the edge off and combined with a lie down it normally get shut of it.

BooseysMom · 16/04/2020 21:39

Yeah had an annoying headache for about 3 days now. Put it down to pmt & peri menopause. Also get the pounding heart in bed at night. Another weird thing is I've noticed my temp is always 36.1 or .2, never normal. Every day the same Confused

wowfudge · 16/04/2020 21:40

I think it sounds like migraine caused by stress. Lots of painkillers do nothing for migraine though aspirin or ibuprofen can work for some people. Try something, don't suffer. Also something that gets you a couple of good nights' sleep can really reset you. Ring the GP and get a telephone appointment. There will be something that can help.

I suffer from migraines and take a preventative - first couple of weeks I was working from home I had several migraines and I'm sure it was down to stress, anxiety and the uncertainty of the current situation.

TheFormidableMrsC · 16/04/2020 21:50

Yes I've had a lot of headaches. I'm trying to ensure I keep my water intake up and that I get plenty of fresh air. I have also had trouble sleeping. Our whole lives are weird currently, nothing is normal and it's bound to have an impact. I've probably had an awful lot more screen time than usual and suspect that may contribute. I've spoken to lots of people with the same issue.

psychedelephant · 16/04/2020 22:02

Curbside omg I've had the eye pulse for a month, but on the left.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 16/04/2020 22:20

Yes! I don't usually get headaches but now its every afternoon. Too much screen time, way too much coffee and perhaps low level tension. I've never taken so many painkillers outside of injury before.

OldEvilOwl · 16/04/2020 22:45

I definitely need to drink more water so am going to try to increase this. I also have some allergy tablets in my handbag so will try taking one of those a day too, in case it is hayfever though i dont usually suffer from it.
The headache is actually better today but im still getting the thumping in my chest.

Thankyou for all your suggestions

I've been getting the eye pulse as well, on and off. It's off just now, it's so annoying.

Springcatkin · 16/04/2020 23:20

Yes eye pulse here too (on the right). Had it before very infrequently
