HOW did I pick-up this bug?!

Isolated 100% with DH and DCs since lockdown. Haven't seen anyone else for weeks and neither have they.

Cleaning everything, quarantining all sorts - yet I've still managed to pick-up a bug! Waves of nausea and vomiting. I also seen to have an infection inside one nostril!

I know this aren't coronavirus symptoms, but sod's law that I still manage to catch something!

Have you been shopping/out for your daily exercise?

Maybe it's not a bug.....something you ate? Anxiety? Allergy to cleaning products?

SuddenArborealStop · 15/04/2020 22:42

I have no idea but DS has picked up something and I have to assume it was from digging in the garden cos he has no other way to catch anything right now.

LemonySippet · 15/04/2020 22:42

Food poisoning? I managed to give myself diarrhoea yesterday by eating leftover pasta that I probably should have binned Envy

Oh dear! I hope everyone who's poorly gets better very soon.

No, I haven't been to a shop and our daily walks avoid seeing anyone. Private woodland adjoined to our garden, which we have permission to walk in.

I've eaten the same as everyone else in the family, who all feel fine. I haven't drunk any alcohol for a week or so.

Sod's law.

I always wonder this - a bug must start somewhere. How?

bedtimebrew · 15/04/2020 23:06

Pregnant with hayfever?

AmericanAdventure · 15/04/2020 23:11

Shopping/deliveries/post can all carry germs, bugs and viruses.

CallMeRachel · 15/04/2020 23:19

How have you been getting your food supplies in?

CurtainWitcher · 15/04/2020 23:23

Definitely not pregnant, never had hay fever before.

We've had one food delivery, in which we washed or quarantined everything.

Post has been quarantined too.

Feel so sick. So unlucky!

There has been a few posts like this. It’s scary to think you can pick up bugs when you have been so careful . Is anyone else in household sick?

CurtainWitcher · 15/04/2020 23:28

Yes, it's weird, isn't it?

No one else feels unwell, which made me rule out food.

DH is, wisely, sleeping apart from me tonight.

Do you have a temperature?

Ifonlywecouldwishuponastar · 15/04/2020 23:31

I haven't been well either. I think I have a uti it's actually quite painful. I hope you feel better soon Thanks

Gilead · 15/04/2020 23:35

People often rule out food because everyone else is okay, but it only means that you had the piece that had gone off.

DoTheNextRightThing · 15/04/2020 23:37

Happened to me too OP. Hadn't left the house for 10 days, started vomiting. The waves of nausea were even worse. I felt nauseous for two full days before I finally started being sick. No idea how I caught it, but people keep telling me it was COVID but with different symptoms. Maybe they're right, who knows.

Roseysheep · 15/04/2020 23:40

My son and I both woke up with a cold. No temp or cough but a bit of sore throat, blocked nose and sneezing a bit.

I wondered the same. How?!
Yes we've had shopping delivered but it's scary how easily a virus can be passed on when we're not even leaving the house!

thenettyprofessor · 15/04/2020 23:44

" I also seen to have an infection inside one nostril!"
I have this too, and I also am super strict on hygiene? interesting

gingerbreadslice · 15/04/2020 23:45

I'm the same it's weird we've been so careful and yet I have one swollen tonsil and a sore throat weird acid reflux in the evening and sometimes find it hard to catch my breath I've literally not been anywhere. And we Dettol and anti bac everything. Confused

gingerbreadslice · 15/04/2020 23:46

And the nostril thing I had to it was burning for days and just crusted only in the right nostril which strangely enough is the same side of the swollen tonsil Shock
