Fabulous story. So pleased he managed to become a hero twice in his lifetime.

I think he should get a personal message from the Queen rather than just a telegram for his forthcoming birthday.

I was crying watching his interview on the BBC this morning, so humble and a lovely man.

@ssd I've only just stopped! His face when his daughter told him about the campaign to get him his knighthood and then him singing along with Michael Ball and seeing his GP and nurse.

He's so positive and seems like such a lovely man. There's a video on FB of someone singing to him and he starts singing along to White Cliffs of Dover 😭 it's so emotional, it's lovely.

I cried the whole way through his interview on BBC breakfast today too!!! What a thoroughly lovely man. Love him!
