Footner fail! (Warning...photo!)

What's happened?? I've used Footner many times but this time has been a huge (painful) fail Sad

I used the Footner socks 3 days ago, kept them on for the recommenced time then washed with soap and water once off. Soaked my feet on day 2.

I've had absolutely no peeling at all, which can be normal for day 3. The soles of my feet have become tough and shiny, and cracks have formed. And these cracks have become inflamed Sad and quite painful!!

Has anyone else had this? What's happened? I was so looking forward to some lockdown peeling fun...but this?!! I feel so deflated. And sore. Sad

Ouch I've had some delivered today as I realised lockdown was the perfect time for some peely fun but you've put me off now OP Sad

wowfudge · 14/04/2020 20:41

Oh no - I did mine on Saturday. Where did you buy the footer from and was it genuine?

fairydustandpixies · 14/04/2020 20:43

I thought it was just me! I've used Footner the past couple of years, I did a repeat order on Amazon two weeks ago, used it just the same for my annual foot beautification (!), followed the instructions as always and my feet are all cracked and bleeding just like yours!!

I’d get those soaking in warm water and dettol if you have some (or savlon or even salt water). I’d do it at least twice daily for half an hour - should soften the skin, heal any infection and help the peeling. If you have savlon or similar cream put it on the cracks then wrap your feet in cling film with socks over to help it to soak in. (No stranger to cracked and bleeding feet).

ladymalfoy · 14/04/2020 20:46

Have you been walking about without socks or shoes? Even the teeniest scratch can be exacerbated by the treatment. I write from experience.

FizzyPink · 14/04/2020 20:47

Gosh they look horrendous! I did both mine and DPs last week with ones we got from Amazon and they were totally fine

Eyelash500 · 14/04/2020 20:47

I got them in Superdrug about 6 weeks ago, so I'm assuming they're genuine. Still in-date.

I've used them so many times (well, maybe 5/6) and I've never had any bother at all.

Noticed my feet were inflamed this morning so I didn't soak my feet today like I normally would, but they're sore when walking or flexing my feet Sad

I always wear slippers at home, with or without socks. I have dogs and cold wooden floors so I always have something on my feet.

There were no nicks or cuts on my feet at all before using Footner.

Thanks for the advice Duchess. I've got some Germoline...think that would be ok to put on my feet?

Duchessofealing · 14/04/2020 21:07

Definitely - anything antiseptic on the cracks should help. Do soak in salt water though - will hurt a lot but will help the healing.

Eyelash500 · 14/04/2020 21:11

Thanks duchess I'll definitely be soaking them twice a day in salt water now, and putting the Germoline on them.

It’s why diabetics aren’t allowed to use them, as it can cause cracks and let infection in. I would put something antiseptic on the cracks like others suggested

Spearmintgreen · 15/04/2020 04:23

Oh dear, that doesn't look very good. Have you read about the chicken pox like marks?

Eyelash500 · 15/04/2020 15:10

Spearmintgreen no? Tell me more!

So my feet were slathered in Germoline overnight and have had a little salty soak this morning, with more Germoline afterwards.

Still sore, still cracked Sad V disappointed.

Have you got a foot cream with urea in it? Try CCS if you don’t have a different one, slather them in it with a good massage (it will hurt) and wrap in cling film until all the cream is absorbed - it should start to soften the edges of the cracks. It takes time unfortunately - sympathy I feel your pain Gin

SMaCM · 27/04/2020 00:45

I did one a week and a half ago and mine was fine. I was going to do another one soon, but you might have put me off!

Eyelash500 · 29/04/2020 12:53

SMaCM sorry!!!

The deep cracks on the soles of my feet heard after a few days, then my feet began to peel. Very small flakes though...I'm not pulling any skin or anything like that but it's very dissatisfying Sad

BrooHaHa · 29/04/2020 13:28

At least it's healing

Northernsoullover · 29/04/2020 13:30

My fail isn't as bad as yours but bizarrely only one foot is peeling 🤔.

Eyelash500 · 30/04/2020 11:56

Yes definitely great that it's healed! I'm just left with feet that look like snakeskin Grin

So strange only one foot is peeling though, pp?

i haven't done mine so far this year... but I always put the plug in the shower every day once I have done it...so the tray fills while I shower and this really helps get the peeling going.

Your cracks look dreadful though OP...I'd keep up with the salty water for now.
Were your feet not too bad...so it's been over effective iyswim??

It's sort of why i haven't done my trotteryhooves, they are not that bad atm.

Eyelash500 · 30/04/2020 14:22

Hi Laurie

That's a great idea about putting in the plug when showering. I much prefer a shower to a bath, and I'm literally in and out of a bath as I get quite bored and restless.

My heels, balls of feet, big toe and outer side of my foot we're quite rough but soles of my feet weren't bad at all...and that's where the red, angry cracks appeared. They've completely healed now though, thank goodness!
