Sunshine.
My DH on the whole has been brilliant - calm, helpful and good company.
My DM has been a brick - she's stayed at home, been stoically cheerful, and called daily to entertain the DC.
Hobbies. I've taken up both knitting and Spanish and find them both rather soothing.

Floexotic · 14/04/2020 18:40

The garden. My mood directly correlates with how much time I spend out there. In that sense it’s been a massive blessing-I’ve watched my mum and grandparents get so much pleasure from their gardens over the years but never really managed to recreate it for myself due to other priorities.
Now I’ve realised how happy it makes me I will continue to prioritise it even when this is over.
The little jokes me and dh are sharing about the situation (even though we are fully aware of the horror of it all)
Being able to exercise in the countryside on our doorstep.
Spending time reading, watching tv or colouring with the children without feeling they should be doing something more ‘worthwhile’ (not that these things aren’t worthwhile-especially the reading)

springydaff · 14/04/2020 20:06

cantcalm · 14/04/2020 20:32

Living in Scotland
Going for walks in the village/fields
Watching Mass on the TV, listening to hymns - despite having been a very lapsed Catholic for years, I’ve never felt more need to believe in God before
My v v good friend, GP, who keeps texting saying she firmly/confidently believes this will end
Watching very gentle TV - friends, dinnerladies, vicar of dibley, last of the summer wine, GBBO
Watching the flowers budding and the bees, birds coming past the garden
Nicola Sturgeon - I’m aware she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I find her enormously reassuring, in part because she feels like ‘one of us’

Crinkle77 · 14/04/2020 20:36
