does anyone know if they are still allowing family to visit?

I think it depends on the home but no, in the main, not.

milienhaus · 14/04/2020 11:27

I seriously doubt it, sorry.

Hi I work in a care home and nobody is allowed to visit in ours. It started about 2 weeks before lockdown. It's too risky. We are doing a lot of facetime with families.

There is no visiting allowed in my FILs care home. The residents are all confined to their rooms and not allowed to mix. Despite this they have 3 resident showing virus symptoms. They should get the results today. I assume this has been brought in by staff who have no symptoms. There is no way any decent care home would allow anyone other than care staff given how easy it seems for the virus to be transmitted.

No visitors in ours at all, even for people who are quite poorly. We have a large conservatory and families come and wave and chat at the window. It’s nice for some but for others they get cross as they cannot understand why they won’t come in as usual. Lots of families sending new phones or tablets and these are being used. Using FaceTime with elderly people who have never experienced anything like it can be hilarious. Good luck

The one my mum is in is locked down. Really hard as she had to go in during lockdown as my dad died and I haven't been able to see her, or the home. She's fortunatly unaware of it all.
Hoping to move her closer, but of course the home here isn't accepting anyone new at this point either
