Presents for a 10 year old?

Hi, my eldest is going to be 10 in a couple of weeks. I had planned to only get her a few token gifts to open in the morning and then mainly give her money and take her out on a ‘grown up’ shopping day to spend it.

That’s out the window now so I need to get her some nice gifts. I’ve already got some books and I was thinking about a kids Fitbit but apart from that I’m drawing a blank. Any ideas?

Why don’t you stick to the original plan of giving her mainly money and then set-up a fun ‘shopping day’ at home to spend it?

Get all ready and do some online shopping together to spend her money and then have a nice lunch together with mocktails etc as if you were out?

Hope she manages to enjoy it. Flowers

Fitbit is a good idea, my 11 year old is asking for one. Does she have lots of stuff for the garden?
Basketball/ netball hoop
Lo Lo ball (all the rage at ds school)
Pogo stick
Echo dot for bedroom

What sort of things would you be thinking of buying on the shopping trip? If it's clothes then surely that can just wait until the shops re open. Have you talked to her about what she would like to do? Lockdown has re ignited a lot of hobbies and interests for lots of people (adults and children) so what she was interested in a couple of months ago might have changed.
