I think their could be a riot... the TV has broken... it's been flickering for months silly me thought it was just a loose connection on the Xbox or wii or sky. No no it's the bloody TV. Today we've been greeted with only small flickering stripes of picture. DH is hyperventilating in the corner at the thought of the rest of lockdown without a tv and more importantly fifa. I am trying to work out how the hell we can get a new tv by the end of the day and if this counts as essential shopping.
Please send help, and I know the world doesn't revolve around TV but in this current situation it bloody helps.

Curry’s are doing deliveries

Try there

kimlo · 13/04/2020 10:36

order one off amazon? You wont have ot by the end of the day but it shouldn't take too long.

Is it the only tv in the house?

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 13/04/2020 10:36

They sell TVs in supermarkets 🤷‍♂️

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 13/04/2020 10:37

Or Argos in Sainsburys, if you have one near you.

Marmite27 · 13/04/2020 10:37

Argos is still delivering

notangelinajolie · 13/04/2020 10:37

Tesco sell telly's.

overweightcat · 13/04/2020 10:38

Use that time to bond and work on your emotional connection as a couple by spending every waking hour together ? Grin

Try amazon.

decisionsdecision · 13/04/2020 10:39

Ahh but will I be beaten with sticks for just getting a TV rather than 'essentials'

SuckingDieselFella · 13/04/2020 10:40

Argos did same day deliveries pre lockdown.

Currys, Amazon and John Lewis are still delivering.

Spied · 13/04/2020 10:40

Argos/Sainsburys/Tesco
Am pretty sure you could have one by the end of the day.

TheGreatWave · 13/04/2020 10:40

Argos are doing deliveries but it will probably be a couple of days to get a slot.

So as said a supermarket is your best bet, or Argos click and collect.

Geraniumblue · 13/04/2020 10:40

Go to Tesco buy tv, bread and milk. Sorted.

Zhuleva · 13/04/2020 10:41

If they're selling it in a shop that's open then just get one!

BlackeyedSusan · 13/04/2020 10:42

You disguise the real purpose of your visit (tv) with some essentials (bread milk veg etc)

It is probably fairly essential to your household, if there are going to be rows, distress, wailing and gnashing of teeth. (or is that just ours whenthe internet is a bit dodgy? )

TheGreatWave · 13/04/2020 10:42

At least you will have a TV whilst being beaten by sticks.

Northernsoullover · 13/04/2020 10:42

If you go to a supermarket do a weekly shop then you can just pop a tv into your trolley because you were there anyway Wink

RJnomore1 · 13/04/2020 10:42

Go to a supermarket, put milk in trolley, grab tv as you pass and hope none of the MN massive cross your path.

Starisnotanumber · 13/04/2020 10:44

AO online do really fast delivery maybe worth a look as supermarkets only have a limited amount of televisions.
Would take your old one away as well

bettybattenburg · 13/04/2020 10:47

OP what a fantastic opportunity, you can read books, play board games and card games with your family, do crafts together and really bond well with each other, do some yoga and meditation together.

Fuck that. Get yourself down to a large supermarket and buy some essentials and casually pop a TV in your trolley at the same time.

LastTrainEast · 13/04/2020 10:48

Yes order one. If they are willing to send it then it's ok.

I loved "work on your emotional connection as a couple by spending every waking hour together"

decisionsdecision · 13/04/2020 10:49

@bettybattenburg 😂😂 I did suggest we play monopoly 😂

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/04/2020 10:56

FIL has one delivered by John Lewis last week.

AJPTaylor · 13/04/2020 11:09

Ao are always very good

Dreamstosell · 13/04/2020 11:12

Curry’s still doing next day delivery

MrsCastiel · 13/04/2020 11:18

I did suggest we play monopoly

Oh christ no, not monopoly. Someone will bankrupt someone else, the banker will come under suspicion for money laundering, dice will be used as missiles and before you know the kids will be divorcing you both and you'll be wishing you'd popped to Tesco for a faux essential shop/TV shop.
