How to tell the difference between spit up and sick?

DS is sixteen weeks
Since we switched to formula he's always been a bit sicky and spits up during and after feeds but not a lot

He's got reflux so we use anti reflux formula which helps a lot but he still spits up

Recently I think he's started teething on and off and I've noticed he's also started spitting up after eating but like an hour to an hour and a half afterwards and sometimes it's 3-4 times not a lot each time but in total it seems like a lot

Stupid question but is this sick or does it still count as spit up? Is this normal.still?

I think "spit up" is just another word for "sick" isnt it? Or maybe sick is after they're weaned so it's food rather than just milk. In any case I'd say it's pretty normal for babies to be sick/spit up quite frequently and it always looks like more than it is.

Reflux baby here! Spit up kind of dribbles out but sick has force behind it.

Ah ok..so sometimes he does a bit of a burp and then spit up kind of dribbles out after (you can hear it come up with the burp) so.i guess that's more sick-y?

The things I worry about these days Grin

I only counted it as sick if they actually retched with it.

@aberforthsgoat I would still count that as spit up if it came with a burp
