If you could have the free run of any building in the world right now, where would you go?

All alone, no school parties, no guided tours, no overly officious guides, you can nosy behind the scenes and in the private areas.
For me, it would be one of the major art galleries of the world, the Louvre or the MMOMA, maybe a museum like the smithsonian.

Magic kingdom in walt disney world is where i would go. Think of being able to see the castle with not a soul there. I got a pic of ds and i at disneyland paris with the castle in the background at closing time and ill forever treasure it

The parsonage at Haworth Smile

Definitely one of my happy places!

A brilliant question - thanks OP.

This is so difficult though!

The British Museum - it has so much material from so many times and places - I could spend weeks in there.
The Taj Mahal.
Cairo Museum to get a good proper look at all the K52 trasures, including all of the stuff in the storerooms. Or probably better still the Valley of the Kings - so much to see and plenty of time to explore all of the wonderful tomb art.
A house I see on my walk everyday - woild love to nose inside it.
Florence - so many to chose from, the Uffizi is amazing, but if I could be there in total peace and quiet then I would have to chose Galleria della Accademia so that I could be in awe of the sublime statue of David.

St Peter's Rome.
Or any Catholic church.

(But it might as well be one which is interesting, historically and architecturally, so when I've finished praying I can explore.)

the louvre in Paris didn't have time to go when we went to Paris
or Pompei still hoping that our holiday already booked for October will still go ahead but if not will be next year

Versailles. I'd sit at one of the big fancy tables , drink champagne and feel like Marie Antoinette! Then I'd walk slowly round the gardens .

The Winter Palace St Petersburg, Russia (museum & gardens)

It takes years to see everything so now would be the perfect time to explore.

Bank (or any large interchange) station. I’d love to see behind the scenes; the offices and technical rooms, all the connecting/hidden passageways and emergency escapes.

The V&A.

I want to rummage through their stores too. I promise to leave it tidy.

I think it says a lot about me that my first thought was ‘the pub’

PatriciaHolm · 13/04/2020 15:20

Smithsonian, as long as I'm allowed to wander between all the different buildings!

HyperactivePineapple · 13/04/2020 15:22

I don't mind, I just have two criteria.

It is somewhere warm.
It has large private gardens and a wood, so I can be outside more than I can at the moment.

I've decided to add more criteria. lt needs to be clean, comfortable and have a well stocked kitchen.

Justonemoremojito · 13/04/2020 15:27

Waddesdon manor, big old country mansion...... or a 5* all inclusive somewhere hot

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 13/04/2020 15:29

The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Mainly for the rooftop pool and views of the city. Staying in a different room every night would keep me busy for a while.

caz114 · 13/04/2020 15:37

National Record Office at KEW, could spend hours rooting through all the boxes and files. Heaven!

MrsSnitchnose · 13/04/2020 17:56

I've thought of another one the Vatican archives, would love to have a shufty around in there without interference
