Any dentists about??

I know dentists aren’t seeing anyone unless it’s a real emergency and I definitely don’t want to be seen right now anyway (especially since I’d need to drag three kids along with me!)

Just before lockdown I had root canal treatment on two front teeth at the left side and my dentist had put in temp fillings. I’ve been brushing gently twice a day as instructed but they’re starting to wobble/crack now whenever I eat. Is there anything I can do to stop them cracking/coming out, or if there’s not is there anything I can do to prevent infection? Is it going to hurt? Will I still be able to eat? I’ve not long finished a 5 day course of antibiotics for a tooth infection as it is so blooming scared atm!

Sorry for all the questions, I’ve only recently got over my phobia of dentists, hadn't visited one in over 20 years so haven’t had any kind of work done before and worried about not being able to be seen for possibly months.

Our dentists are doing telephone triage
Might be worth calling to ask and see if you can speak to someone
I would imagine that even if the fillings come out there may not be pain if you’ve had root treatment. However there’s a small possibility of infection - depending on how much comes away

Keep brushing them gently. Keep eating - perhaps on the other side

It’s a rubbish time for dental problems tho

Ours has a triage atm too, but closed for weekend/possibly bank holiday and they seem so busy with phone calls atm I didn’t want to needlessly call if the fillings coming out wouldn’t be serious. More worried about there being pain if they do come out, I’m a massive wimp! Grin

Good luck. It’s crap that for some reason dentists don’t appear to be considered important enough to remain open with proper ppe.

Perhaps buy a tooth temporary repair kit next time you are at the shops or the chemist just in case you need it. For the future.
