Carols from Kings

It's not something I'd necessarily always watch, but I'm enjoying the carols from King's tonight. Nice to be able to enjoy the singing and switch off a bit.

I LOVE Carol's at Kings.
Christmas does not start until mum has sat down and watched Carols at Kings with a sherry and had a wee Christmas tear. 😁

AdoptedBumpkin · 11/04/2020 20:01

That's lovely @Breathmiller

It’s not Carols - Carols are at Christmas! It’s Sacred music for Easter Week!

Sorry Chocaholic Confused

Yes I’ve been enjoying it too. And I love the Christmas one too!

wowfudge · 11/04/2020 20:06

For a moment there I thought Christmas was being re-run!

I was just wondering if I'd been asleep for 8 months there!

Hmm
whattodo2019 · 11/04/2020 20:08

Just beautiful aren't they.
Happy Easter 🐣

Mum2b2020 · 11/04/2020 20:08

I saw this. Was quite relaxing but couldnt help wonder why they were standing so close together. Made me too uncomfortable so I switched over Confused

MrsPworkingmummy · 11/04/2020 20:08

Love the Kings Choir. Christmas isn't Christmas without it x

chockaholic72 · 11/04/2020 20:08

Sorry, I’m a total pedant - I hated myself during that last post. But it is beautiful isn’t it? If you’re ever in London try to go to Mass at Westminster Cathedral - it’s open to all and the choir sings - hearing a choir like that in person is like the best stereo you’ll ever hear.

Breathmiller · 11/04/2020 20:09

Haha. I just thought you were bored in lockdown and you were watching reruns Grin

AdoptedBumpkin · 11/04/2020 20:10

No worries Chockaholic, you made me smile Smile.

I must give that a go.

@Breathmiller The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if they were showing reruns from last Christmas in a few weeks.

I’m going to catch up tomorrow for a bit of comfort viewing. I’ve been privileged enough to be on the chapel when they’ve recorded Carols from Kings and it was one of the most magical experiences of my life.

halcyondays · 11/04/2020 20:12

I always watch Carols from Kings but hadn’t realised there was an Easter one until the other day. Radio Times says it was recorded a few weeks ago before social distancing started.

StrawberryJam200 · 11/04/2020 20:13

Carols did originally mean sacred songs at Easter, iirc!

Hope I've not opened a can of worms here... hides

"I saw this. Was quite relaxing but couldnt help wonder why they were standing so close together. Made me too uncomfortable so I switched over"
Radio Times website says that it was filmed before covid

chockaholic72 · 11/04/2020 20:22

Quite happy to be corrected!! There’s enough arguing going on on these forums already at the mo without me adding to it :-)
