Just opened a jar (with a little help from mumsnet lol) with a best before of aug 2018. Notice one of the ingredients is fish sauce though...

It doesnt appear fermented and there's no sign of mould. But I'm a little nervous to risk it. Anyone eat kimchi regularly? Think it's safe enough?

You would know if it was bad , it’ll be fine to eat if it’s been sealed

I wouldn't eat kimchi that's 2 years out of date! (Korean MIL here, she'd say the same)

frazzledasarock · 11/04/2020 18:47

Not two years out of date. Please don’t.

I know it’s supposed to ferment a bit but still. And you really don’t want to wind up in hospital for giving yourself severe food poisoning
