Anyone know anything about wasps/nest?

Last year we had a wasps nest removed form our loft.

The past 2 days we’ve been getting a wasp coming into our en-suite (window is always open) and we have just found it starting to build on our fan heater (tiny 2cm collection of stuff at the minute). We obviously don’t want the nest to build so short of closing the window is there anything else we need to do? Is this the queen coming in and if so would catching and “disposing” of her help?

yes at this time of year it's queens looking to start a colony. Keep the window closed and relocate her outside

if you can dispose of her it will mean you can keep your window open. My daughter s bedroom for some reason is of great attraction to Queen wasps and she regularly seems it's in to catch one. I think DH has been shooing them out the window so it is probably same one each time!!

How do catch a queen? Confused

I wondered where all the massive wasps were coming from this week. I'm getting two or three a day even with closed windows. I always know when there's another arrived as the buzzing is so loud!

We closed the window and then within a second of opening it she flew straight back in to the same place so I’m afraid to say she has been squished. Hopefully that will be end to it.

I've resorted to squishing too I'm afraid, but still more come.

@lubeybooby the queen is the only one coming in at the minute- we know it’s her as she has started building a nest. We’ve destroyed and spray it and then killed her so hoping that’s an end to it.

I do feel rather mean, but I’ve got 2 small children and really want want a nest in my en-suite! We need to be able to keep the window open or it gets mouldy from the shower.
