It was a real life story of women at home during the war.
one woman placed an ad in a magazine and set up a letter circle with the women who answered. They were a real mix of women young and old, farmers and townies, educated and not etc
they took it in turns to write about what they knew about. That article would be posted round the group with each writing notes/thoughts on it until it got back to the writer
They met up some time after the war too and I seem to remember one woman had died and her daughter/s came to the meet up
