Hi, my DS is 12 and has a headache. The only paracetamol I have in the house is 3 months to 6 years. It says to give 10ml up to 6 years. It's 125mg/5ml suspension. How much of it can I give my DS pls? Don't want to bother a pharmacy about it. Thanks.

My adult paracetamol says one to one and a half 500mg tablet for 12-15 years so about 4 tsp?

Nannyloubie · 10/04/2020 16:35

Our bottle of that suspension says 10-12 year olds can have 20mls

How heavy is he, that matters as much as age!

Over 50kg is considered an adult in terms of medicine, and would be 1g (40ml). If less than 50kg, 500mg is sufficient.

Also make sure he has drink enough water in the warm weather. Dehydration is the most common cause for a headache.

Thanks so much all. X
