My husband donated cat shit

Just thought I would share the horror I went through yesterday!!

A local volunteer requested donations of toiletries for patients at staff at the local hospital, to be dropped off at their home. I went through all the make up drawers etc and put a small bag together with unused travel shampoos, hand creams etc. Then cleaned the bathroom, and upstairs bins etc. I'm sure you can see where this is going!!!

My husband was off to the supermarket so I asked him to drop off the donations and it was about 2 hours later when I found the bag of donations!!

I flushed hot and cold in actual horror of thinking imagining this lovely family of volunteers having to go through a bag of our rubbish including used cat litter, and literally sped through town imagining the social media post that was probably already being written about the "Shame and disgust of humanity - who would do such a thing?!"

Fortunately, it was still out the front of their house so I was able to sneak up and swap for a perfectly normal amount of toiletries. But then I was afraid then that I would be caught on CCTV stealing a bag of donations aka, cat shit.

When I saw it I was that fucking surprised how clearly it looked like actual waste I took a picture for DH. Went home and had a very large G&T to calm my nerves

I haven't said anything to the volunteers because I don't want to out my husband as being a total fucking moron on our local social media. So Mumsnet it is!

Fucking hell.

Now I know the true definition of what constitutes an ‘essential journey’.

I'm really laughing at the picturesque condom fairy and the utter disheartening realisation that your bag of Easter choc is dog shit

PTSD flashbacks, we live in a beauty area and i was horrified of being delayed whilst the police try and comprehend the reason for my essential journey 🤣 thanks for that

Reminds me of my DH at my then DDs 5th Birthday party. We had hired a church hall and at the end cleared all rubbish into black bin bags. Because there were so many presents, we put all her presents into two black bin bags. He knew this as it was his idea as we had to park our car far away from the hall and it was easier to use the bin bags to get presents to car in one journey.
We got home and opened the boot to find two black bins of rubbish - yep you guessed it, he had thrown DDs presents into the bins at back of church hall - my DD was not impressed!

This reminds me of the time one of my children threw our picnic down the rubbish chute and we took his baby brother’s stinking nappy in a bag under our pram to the park. We had noticed the smell all day but it wasn’t until lunchtime and we got the picnic out that we realised the mistake.

I'm slightly disappointed that you made it, as the "is this the worst human that ever lived" headlines accompanied by photos of charity workers with sad faces and close ups of the evidence really would have been something.

We once took a trip in our new car with some broken items to the recycling centre. Imagine my husband’s face as we stood and watched it all get crushed and spotted the parcel shelf from our car. We’d removed it to get all the stuff in the back and I’d enthusiastically flung it into the big crusher along with everything else. 😕
