Have you ever binge watched so much that you take on the speech patterns of the TV show characters?

I’ve noticed recently that I start to imitate the characters - eg an American show I don’t necessarily do an American accent but more their manner of speaking, or if the characters are very sweary I swear more for a few days.

Is this weird??!

I watched too many episode of the chilling adventures of Sabrina and kept praising Satan for about three days.

And Drag Race has me suddenly becoming extremely camp. To my DHs horrified amusement.

Yes, when I originally watched series 1&2 of Outlander, my accent came back. Usually only if I'm angry or drunk does the scots come out.

Not the tv but when Iwas a teenager I and my best friend talked continually as the Goons. H-e-l-l-o-o B-l-o-o-b-o-t-t-l-e. Mad as hatters but loving it.

SaulBerenson · 11/04/2020 09:22

These are brilliant and making me feel less mad!

I’ve definitely had periods when I’ve said “motherfucker!” in my head a lot after watching something sweary but fortunately never in front of people! Which is good as it would be very out of character for me.
