Debenhams in Ireland will not reopen after the lockdown is lifted (whenever that will be).

I can only imagine that the issues that it encountered in Ireland will see stores close in the UK too.

Haven’t they already closed in the UK?

LIZS · 09/04/2020 15:24

They already had earmarked stores in uk for closure and have gone into administration.

Still, no more having to drag trailers in and out of Bootle dock, the horrible potholed shitehole that it is.

Frankly, the whole chain is on the way out. Having worked for them for over 10 years, with every year bringing a fresh cockup, I'm amazed they lasted this long.

They've been in trouble for months (years?)

I work for a competitor and we weren't expecting them to reopen

Their stores in Ireland are closed as we're in lockdown but the news story is that they will not be reopening as they are going into Administration.

They went into administration here a few days ago.
