Has anyone got rid of pock marks on skin from past acne? If so, how? Tried and tested methods only please. I know they are much harder to tread than simply marks.

Have you seen this Op?

I actually haven't watched it yet so don't know how good.

I've suffered from acne most of my life from the age of nine. I'm now fifty two and still get spots. The sad truth is it's not possible to completely remove acne scars but there are various treatments that can help.

The most extreme is chemical or laser deep skin resurfacing. The results can be good but you have to be really motivated to do this one, the recovery is long and painful.

I've had a course of less invasive laser treatments which helped improve the scars a bit. I've also had radio frequency microneedling. My scars are still visible just a bit less obvious than before.

I have rolling scars but if you have so called ice pick scars or box car scars which are deep with well defined edges there's a treatment with an acid called TCA Cross which can raise the level of the scar. This should only be administered by cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist.

Check out the Youtube videos by Dr Davin Lim. He's an acne scar specialist based in Australia. It's a good guide to the current state of the art in acne scar treatment.

Thanks a lot both. I can’t across the TCA video a few minute after posting this thread actually.

More responses welcome.

10 years younger tonight on channel 5 features a woman with adult acne, might be worth a watch for tips?

I've had microneedling with great results. Will probably have radio frequency microneedling after pregnancy. Retin a / adapalene in conjunction with microneedling is very effective. Proper clinic though as they need to go quite deep for good results
