Sitting quietly in the garden with a large glass of wine when a sparrow landed right on the floor next to me. S/he must have sensed me and as it flew up in panic, it obviously miscalculated and flew underneath the garden table knocking itself out

It was still alive cos I could see it breathing so I put some gardening gloves on and put it on top of the table. Its starting to stir but I'm watching it to make sure next doors cat doesn't have an extra dinner.

Do you have a shoe box? If you cut the side of the shoe box out and then cover it, it’ll gives it chance to recover in relative safety. Sure it’ll perk up soon.

Well, s/he's gone. They shook themselves and flew off into the bushes at the end of the garden.

I rescued a bird from my cat’s jaws today! It flew straight off into a tree so I hope it’s ok.

The cat appeared with a dead mouse for the first a couple of weeks ago so I hope this isn’t a new trick of hers 😬

This brings to mind a thread where the OP was spraying their fence with fence paint, and spray painted a pigeon!
