If a giraffe drank a cup of coffee it would be cold by the time it reached its stomach

PorpentinaScamander · 08/04/2020 22:46

Leonardo Da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time.

I have no idea what Mum facts are. But we used to write a 'random fact of the day' on the board at work. Sadly I have forgotten most of them

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2020 22:49

Mum fact: American's actually spell mom correctly, not us. mom=shortening of mOther

The etymology of mum is that it seems to derive from mammy which came from mamma

a word used especially by children and infants, 1570s, representing the native form of the reduplication of *ma- that is nearly universal among the Indo-European languages (Greek mamme "mother, grandmother," Latin mamma, Persian mama, Russian and Lithuanian mama "mother," German Muhme "mother's sister," French maman, Welsh mam "mother").

It's not an abbreviation of "mother"

If someone asks for a mum fact, I do my best to oblige.Grin

PorpentinaScamander · 08/04/2020 22:59

@Neveranynamesleft I know someone who can lick her elbow. So it is possible. But rare. However I believe it is impossible to kiss your elbow (although why anyone would want to is beyond me - the same could be said for licking it)

Neveranynamesleft · 08/04/2020 23:15

Yes that's what I meant..kiss. i knew it was something like that ! Bet she cant lick her eyebrows tho Smile

DonnaDarko · 08/04/2020 23:16

Me: makes a weird face

Mum: if the wind changes, your face will stay that way

Do you like the name Monzo?

OP posts:
Neveranynamesleft · 09/04/2020 14:36

For what ? Son ? Dog ?

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2020 15:23

Monzo? Well, I suppose Lloyd and Barclay are names but I'd steer clear of one that rhymed with Gonzo.
