DH's work have asked everyone to voluntarily take a 10% cut

Private sector. Higher earners take a 15% cut, top earners 20%. So we're discussing this and the thing is, what's the point in making this voluntary?

Some in my company have been 'asked' to take a 3 month 100% payout and the rest a 10% payout for the same period. I'm in the 100% bracket sadly.

Dh has taken a 20% pay cut as has everyone in his team - except for 1 person.

It’s voluntary so you can’t make them - there are several of his peers who he suspects haven’t but he’s unsure. It should be transparent.

Another way of looking it is if company folds everyone will have 100% pay cut .

The idea is to cut the overheads of the firm whilst ensuring employment for all continues. Often work does reduce but not at the same rate. Plenty of people do not expect an immediate cut In hours. But yes, 100% cut in hours could be around the corner! In the hospitality industry that’s already happened!

I got a 15 per cent pay cut, and nothing voluntary about it.
