A birthday present for DH- help!

DH (late 40s) has an imminent birthday and I am at a complete dead loss on what to get. He did want a new bit of kit for his hobby... but will have to postpone that as he can’t get to the shop/ shop’s not open for him to choose it.

He’s an awkward bugger to buy for at the best of times.

The new Star Wars film doesn’t come out on DVD in time and so far all I can think of is chocolate and whisky...

Any good ideas please?

Is there any special food that he really likes?

DFIL lives nearly 4 hours away from us and we've ordered him different types of hampers before online and he's loved everyone he's had so far.

You can get one's that are based on an area,Yorkshire,Scotland ect or you can get specialist meat/cheese/beer and artisan snacks.

Would he like any new shoes,trainers,is he into football,if he his maybe something to do with his favourite team.

My DH's birthday is soon and I've had to oder everything for his birthday online this year.

Does he like pork pie? Fortnum's does a gigantic one for £29 which DH is nuts about. Every year I buy him one for his birthday (no idea how it started) and now I feel like I can't stop because he looks forward to it so much.

@FudgeBrownie2019 I like your thinking!

Starts googling pies!
