My son and daughter in law are due to be induced in 2 weeks, and my son wants to be there at the birth, they have 2 young girls aged 3 and 1, who they want me to look after while they are at the hospital, but as i dont live with them, am i allowed to do this for them during this lockdown, there is no one else who can help only me

The general consensus on this sort of question is that you will be looking after vulnerable people (which is allowed) but you should self isolate for 2weeks before your DIL’s induction.

Other than that, a lot of people believe your DIL should just crack on with birth alone. Eitherway, she needs to keep an eye on her hospitals rules regarding birth partners as they’re open to change at any time.

Thank you IckyIsAFuckingStupidWord, i have been self isolating for the best part of a month, due to having a chest infection.
